Happy Book Week Scotland podcast listeners!
We hope you are celebrating your love of books and reading this week and have enjoyed some of the great events in our libraries.
Our podcast, For the Love of Books is celebrating too, with a special interview with one of our Book Week Scotland authors, Philip Caveney aka Danny Weston.
As we discuss in the podcast, Danny Weston is kind of like Philip's invented evil twin that allows him to explore more scary stories than fans of Philip Caveney books would be used to.
Under the guise of Danny, Philip has won the Scottish's Children's Book Award and has a new book now out called Postcards from Valhalla which he chats to our E-Services Librarian Chris Wilson about.

Playlist for Life
Thursday Sep 21, 2023
Thursday Sep 21, 2023
Wednesday 20 September was National Playlist Day 2023 and we celebrated with the launch of a new community-built playlist on Spotify. But more importantly, we caught up with Pam Ribbeck from Playlist for Life to find out more about the charity. Playlist for Life is a charity that aims to promote the benefits of music for those affected by Dementia.
North Lanarkshire Libraries has Playlist for Life Help Points in Airdrie Library, Bellshill Cultural Centre, Coatbridge Library, Cumbernauld Library, Motherwell Library and Wishaw Library. Our Help Points are the starting place for finding out more about the benefits of personal playlists.
Pam chats with our E-Services Librarian, Chris Wilson, about the Playlist for Life charity, and tells us about some of the experiences that they've come across that highlight why it is so important to them to showcase the power of music and the personal memories that music can be associated with it.
Don't forget to visit our website at https://culturenl.co.uk/playlistforlife to submit your song for our Go-To Songs playlist as we continue to celebrate National Playlist Day and build our community playlist.

Correction: Pam has asked us to include a correction as she used the term 'anti psychotic' drugs in error when talking about the reduction in medication at the care home at minute 18. The medications were in fact sedative drugs. Apologies for this error.
